Who is Matt Baker? Matt Baker has 15 years of hands on experience in all aspects of the mortgage industry and is licensed by the State of Arizona, as well as California and Colorado. He started in the mortgage industry as a college intern while attending Arizona State University, learning the business in various aspects from underwriting, processing, document control and loan funding. After college graduation he went into a management program for a large national financial services company learning the internal behind the scenes workings of the mortgage business.

He built his knowledge from the ground up, learning about what happens after the mortgage closes and how rates and pricing work, and other details to help consumers get the business loan product for their particular situation. When Matt graduated from his management-training program, he came back to Arizona and started his mortgage origination career. After several years working with mortgage customers directly, Matt broadened his career working with mortgage brokers and mortgage bankers. After years of working with mortgage brokers in Arizona Matt developed his flat fee business model. He believed mortgage brokers often failed to provide customers the best value and service possible. He thought there was a better way to do business and to more fully educate the homebuyer on what they should expect during the home buying process. Complete transparency and straightforward honesty was necessary. So Matt went back to the drawing board to improve the process and better serve his customers.

Matt Baker is married and he and his wife Bonnie have a new baby daughter Madeleine. They live in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, AZ. He loves the Arizona weather, and all sports outdoors, mainly Tennis, Mountain Biking and Golf.
